Rice Fields in Ubud high country

Julie and I took an incredible hike through rice paddies just outside of Ubud. We were led by our new friend Songtu, whom was raised in this farming community and is now a landscape architect. He was able to point out various plants and describe their medicinal properties and uses. He also picked some tasty berries and fruit that seem to grow EVERYWHERE. My favorite was a berry that (Can’t quite explain it) made our mouths, not quite numb but kind of vibrate like we had eaten pop rocks with out the visible or audible evidence. Fascinating! I will try to find out what it’s called.

Julie and I took a short excursion to Morrison, CO to photograph Mike and Elissa’s Engagement photos. We started the shoot by trooping around in the snow down by Bear Creek. After taking a few shots, slipping and falling on the muddy creek bank I was warmed up despite the chilly weather. Mike and Elissa are such a pleasure to work with. They are so naturally happy to be with one another that catching their bliss was a simple task. Thanks you two. Can’t wait for the wedding!

Our good friend Chef de Cuisine, Daniel Cofredes is has brought new life into Jill’s Restaurant in the St. Julien Hotel in Boulder Colorado. He brought in Chef Laurent Mechin as Executive Chef & Culinary Director. Chef Daniel asked us to come shoot some editorial photos of him and Chef Laurent for up coming magazine spreads.
